DC16 Apprenticeship and Training Center Updates

The District Council 16 Training Center has released updated information regarding the Apprenticeship class schedule and online training opportunities with the STAR program.

DC16 Apprenticeship Training

  • All contractors will receive a 30-day notice to the contact information the Training Center has on file before apprenticeship training restarts, which is tentatively scheduled for the week after the July 4 holiday. Training will either be online or in-person depending on state and county Orders regarding sheltering-in-place.
     
  • The online training for the apprentices will be held during the day, but they are looking into how to accomplish this with minimum impact on employers.

DC16 STAR Online Training         

  • Online OSHA 30 and OSHA 10 training is now available. To register, employers should email to Alex Beltran at alex@dc16jattf.org the following employee information of each person they want registered:
    • Name
    • Email
    • Phone Number
    • Local Union
                                                 
  • ICRA (Infection Control Risk Assessment) COVID-19 online training classes for field employees have been scheduled for Wednesday, May 27 and Thursday, May 28. These courses will be held in two parts, on consecutive days, consisting of two 3-hour sessions via Zoom (participants MUST attend both parts). The course is limited to 30 registrants and participants will receive 8 hours of STAR credit. Employees should register at www.dc16star.org.
